NCAFA offers 3 Coed Flag Football programs this year. Cumberland Panthers, Nepean Eagles and Bell Warriors. These are all open boundary programs that players across the region can participate in. All will offer skill development and game play for players 8 years and older. U8 participants will complete the Football Canada First Down Program. The sessions of the First Down Program develop fundamental movement skills like running, throwing, catching and kicking. The program incorporates football related movements, activities, and skills to help build physical literacy.

The Ottawa RedBlacks held their annual flag football tournament on Sunday October 14 at TD Place for nine U12 flag football teams. This was a 50% increase over the number of teams that participated last year. All teams were treated to a wonderful day of great flag football competition and sportsmanship.
The FPF Cougars won the tournament with a thrilling last second 7-6 victory over Extra Point Flag Football. The Cougars will represent Ottawa at the Grey Cup Flag Football tournament with all of the other CFL team representatives. Good luck Cougars!
NCAFA is sponsoring two free flag football days. On Saturday April 28 and Saturday May 12 from 9 am - 1 pm NCAFA is inviting all to come out and try the game of flag football at Quinn's Point Turf Field (beside Minto Recreation Complex in Barrhaven). We are offering open (boys and girls) and a girls division in the U15 and U13 age divisions. Flag football is a 5 on 5 game on a reduced field so form a team or come out as individuals and have a great time learning flag football skills and playing a few games. Contact Rodney.Moors@ocdsb.ca to let him know you have a team attending or are coming as an individual or small group. Players not on teams will be added to a team or be part of a new team. Mouthguards are recommended but not mandatory. Please bring a dark t-shirt and a white t-shirt.
Over 60 boys and girls showed up for the NCAFA Flag Football Day at Quinn's Point in Barrhaven. The rain stopped as the session began and the field turf had sopped up all of the morning rain so that the field was in perfect shape. CFL Alumni Ken Evraire led the way with our U11 group, teaching them important football skills. These skills led up to some scrimmaging. Rod Moors and coaches from Kanata Knights, Bell Warriors and Cumberland Panthers led the U13 group. There was a coed group and a girls group. Players quickly picked up the rules of flag football except one - no blocking or straight arming! Many wonderful plays on offence and defence. The next flag day is Saturday May 12 from 9 am - 1 pm at Quinn's Point in Barrhaven.
