NCAFA Non-Contact Ready to Launch!
Non-Contact Football has a long and glorious tradition in Ottawa. Ed Laverty began it all in 1962 with the formation of the Ottawa Nepean Touch Football League. The league was a country wide trend setter. NCAFA added girls touch football in the mid-nineties and it has grown to four division and over 30 teams. Ottawa is a hotbed of touch football with play in intermediate schools, over 40 high school girls teams and nine divisions of play in the ONTFL.
NCAFA has added a new early spring 1st Down Football program to the mix. The NCAFA early spring 1st Down Football Program is a fun and friendly program designed for girls & boys aged (5 - 13) to get active in the early spring months (April - May) and learn how to run, catch, kick and punt a Football. Participants and parents will meet lots of new friends and receive tremendous value for their investment.
Flag football has to come to the fore in the past few years as more places in Canada add flag football programs. The Nepean Eagles, Bell Warriors and Cumberland Panthers are the flag leaders in NCAFA with strong flag programs in the spring.
