The youngsters ready to hit the field in 2018 with a new format.

The 2018 fall Tackle football season is set to kickoff in two weeks time with the National Capital Amateur Football Association's Tyke Jamboree (ages 7-9 years old) and Mosquito Madness (10-11 years old). The annual event brings together all community football clubs in the city of Ottawa for what has been claimed as one of the biggest amateur football events in Canada. This year the Tyke level (ages 7-9 years old) has switched from a traditional 10vs10 layout to a more inclusive 6vs6 model in which more clubs from around the city can field these smaller and more pliable rosters. Several Tyke clubs are fielding multiple teams this fall, including Cumberland, Nepean and Cornwall.

As teams are technically still in training camp, this annual event is designed for kids to compete in real game situations with referees and other opponents. The event will take place Sunday August, 12th with the Tykes hitting the field at 10am, followed by the Mosquitos at 2pm. All games and activities will take place at Bob Barr Football Field in Kanata.
