CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK - Mont Bleu Field

Congratulations - Bob BarR

Ottawa - Mayor Jim Watson and Councillor Allan Hubley will officially name the football field at 100 Walter Baker Place, the Robert Barr Football Field.
Robert Barr is a resident who has coached minor football with the Kanata Knights for 30 years. During this time, he has volunteered countless hours and has touched the lives of more than 1,000 youth through his leadership and high moral standards. He believes in helping players of all levels of skill, encouraging excellence and sportsmanship both on and off the field.

Much of Robert’s life has been dedicated to youth football and his community. In recognition of Mr. Barr’s contributions, the City of Ottawa is naming the football field at Walter Baker Park as Robert Barr Football Field.

Congratulations John, for the 40 years of serving the community as an excellent role model and leader Raven Park has been renamed John Smith Park in your honour. Please read the press release - Press Release

U18 TEAM EASTERN ONTARIO (2004, 2009 National Champions!)

Tryouts for the reigning National Champion U18 Team Eastern Ontario begin Saturday, April 27th, 12:00 - 15:00 at the Superdome in Orleans. This is the first of three tryouts scheduled for Team East. There will be two additional tryouts; April 24th in Toronto and April 25th in Kingston.

This is an OPEN tryout for players under 18 as of July 31, 2010 (players may not be younger than 15 as of January 1, 2010). The cost is $20 for those who pre-register online or $30 at the door.

GEE-GEES ADVANCED FOOTBALL SKILLS SPRING CAMP

The goal at the Gee-Gees Advanced Football Skills Camp is to teach advanced position-specific techniques.

Participants need to have some football experience.

BOB STEPHEN MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

NCAFA lost a tremendous friend and coach, with the sudden passing of Bob Stephen. Bob has contributed tremendously over many years to the football community in the Ottawa area. From city to provincial to the national stage, Bob was a true professional and leader who positively touched the lives of those who had the pleasure to know him.

The2009 event was a huge success - raising $5,000 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation and $5,000 for NCAFA.

The 2010 Tournament is just around the corner.
