NCAFA has been the leader for tackle football in the Ottawa area since 1955. With 15 Clubs and over 5,000 members, it has grown to be the largest amateur tackle football association in Canada. Each club can field 1 to 5 teams, ranging from Tyke - Midget, ages 8-19. NCAFA provides quality youth tackle football, flag and touch football in Eastern Ontario and West Quebec. We are pleased to announce the formation of the NCFCA, a Football Coaches association in our area to promote football and focus on the development of football coaches in the region.  The association will formally launch January 1st with a series of presentations in the new year, culminating with a coaches clinic in April.  Read their Press Release for more information and check out their new website.

 
 

TOMMY & LEFEBVRE

Thank you to Kevin Pidgeon for his generous support of NCAFA and its many initiatives.  Kevin, a coach with the Bell Warriors, has been a strong supporter of football and actively promotes the league on a number of levels.  Kevin was also key in building the relationship with EMC to publicize the Weekly Standings for all NCAFA tackle programs.

 

MARCHANT'S

Sean Murphy of Marchant's School Sport Ltd. has been awarded the right to supply NCAFA with Footballs through the 2008 and 2009 seasons. They were selected from five bidders based on their pricing and services offered. NCAFA Clubs can purchase balls at significant discount for use in practice and season play.

 

 
 

ATHLETIC CONDITIONING CENTRE

Athletic Conditioning Centre (ACC) is working with NCAFA to offer "Total Football Conditioning" programs for NCAFA and its members. These programs will help develop athletes in a wide range of areas and is essential for those seeking to develop 'next level' capability. ACC Offer.

>2010 COACHING AND PLAYER CLINICS FOR 2010

The National Capitial Football Coaches Association has updated thier website on Courses and Clinics available to both coaches and players for 2010.

This includes OL / DL and QB Camps as well as NCCP Certification Courses and the annual seminar series that brings some of the top coaches to Ottawa to present.

> OFA EVALUATION CAMP - OTTAWA

The Ontario Football Alliance is travelling across the province to find the best football players in Ontario in 2009!

We will be testing players in three age divisions, Under 19, Under 17, and Under 15. Players in each division will complete the OFA’s camp measuring overall athleticism. Players will be ranked in each division based on all testing across Ontario. All testing results and ranking information will be posted on our website and sent to CIS University Football Coaches.

The U17 Eastern Ontario team wins Gold in Saskatoon with a 42 - 7 win over Southern Alberta.

Eastern Ontario had 7 players named to the Tournament All-Star Team and 6 of those players are from NCAFA - there is no way any other league in all of Canada can boast that number.

> BOB STEPHEN MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

NCAFA lost a tremendous friend and coach, with the sudden passing of Bob Stephen. Bob has contributed tremendously over many years to the football community in the Ottawa area. From city to provincial to the national stage, Bob was a true professional and leader who positively touched the lives of those who had the pleasure to know him.

The event was a huge success - raising $5,000 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation and $5,000 for NCAFA.. Thanks to most of the clubs that particiapated and we will see you next year.

> CFL COMING BACK TO OTTAWA

On March 25, 2008, the CFL Board of Governors awarded a conditional franchise to an Ottawa group that includes 67's owner Jeff Hunt. The franchise will be condition free when the Hunt group negotiates a stadium deal with the City of Ottawa. You are invited to show your support for the franchise by reserving a seat in the stadium for the team's first season. Each seat reservation is $25 and special consideration is being given to former season ticket holders of the Ottawa Renegades and/or Ottawa Rough Riders.
