About the Team
The Redskins Community Football Club (Nepean Redskins) was formed in the South Nepean (Barrhaven) area in August of 1978. The first team fielded was at the PeeWee level and the first team played was the Bell Warriors. Known as the Barrhaven Buccaneers, the team colours were orange and white. Over the next 18 years, Mosquito, Bantam and then Tyke (in 1996) levels were added. The team also changed its name to Redskins and to the colours worn today...maroon, gold and white. In 1998, the Club acquired the local Midget football team, also known as the Redskins, and brought 5 levels of football under one organization. In 2002, the Nepean Redskins were part of the inaugural NCAFA Girls Touch Football program fielding two teams at the PeeWee level.
The Club continues to promote health, discipline and sportsmanship across all levels of play and remains committed to promoting the sport of football in the South Nepean area.
